using the library imageLibrary Card Eligibility

To obtain a free library card a patron must present a valid form of ID which has a current address and provide the names and telephone numbers of two additional contacts outside the patron's home. (These ctontacts are contacted if the you move, we are trying to contact you, and we no longer have valid contact information for you.)  Patrons under the age of 16 require a parent's or guardian's signature to obtain a card. The parent or guardian must provide the required ID. Library card registration forms are available at the library or you can register online.

A replacement fee of $1.00 will be charged for lost cards. The first time a patron uses a new library card there will be a limit of three items that may be checked out.

User ID and PIN for Online Access

To access your account or request materials online, you will need your 14-digit library card number from the back of your library card and a PIN number which must be obtained in person at any of our library branches. This PIN can be changed at any time when you log on to your library account.

If you prefer to use a simpler Alternate ID rather than your 14-digit library card number, ask a library staff member to set this up for you.

Loan Period

Books, magazines and books on CD are loaned for a period of 14 days. Videos are loaned for 7 days.

Renewals

If there is no waiting list on an item that was originally checked out, it may be renewed twice for the same time period as the original loan. Renewals may be made in person, by telephone, on our website, by fax or by mail.

Requests

Requests will be accepted at each library for:

  1. Items in the library system, but out on loan
  2. Items not in the library's collection through Interlibrary Loan
  3. Information on a particular subject
