Greetings from our President, JoyLynn Edwards
From an early age, I have known about my family history. My aunt and grandmother made sure of that. Since my sons graduated from high school I have visited many libraries across the state and nation. I quickly learned that what can be found online is only the tip of the iceberg and there is nothing better than visiting libraries and courthouses to find an elusive bit of information.
After I retired from working in the hospital laboratory, I began to volunteer at the Searcy Public Library in the Arkansas Room. I am far from a professional genealogist, but am glad to help anyone who asks. The library has had genealogy requests come in from all across the nation.
I look forward to the new Searcy Library and to the new possibilities and services it will offer.

New Searcy Library Project Update
A study is underway to determine the community's philanthropic response to the new library renovation project. The study will be completed in late October 2021 and will guide the fundraising efforts. We expect the new library project to be complete by early 2023.
We'd love to have your input about our plans and fundraising efforts.

Bloomerang Donor Management Software
We now have a record management software, called Bloomerang, (after researching options and upon recommendation from the Baxter County Library) to help us manage our donor and membership records. With the software, we have new online forms on our library website that are easy to use--eliminating the two step process for the membership signup or renewals.
