The WCPL (White County Public Libraries) Friends Foundation was established in February 2014 as a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting and enriching the capabilities, resources, and services of the White County Regional Library system. This mission is accomplished through:
- Fundraising
- Advocacy
- Promoting greater awareness of the library's valuable resources
The foundation and the library system work in partnership to determine where private funds may be used for greatest impact. The WCPL Friends Foundation does not supplant the city's and county's responsibility for funding strong libraries.
The WCPL Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization and your donation is deductible to the full extent allowable by law. Our EIN is 46-5116537.
The WCPL Foundation board's nine member Board of Directors includes representatives from each White County Regional Library branch. These members share a vision of the library as an integral part of education, a center of community life, and a catalyst for economic development.

The needs of each individual library in our library system vary and change over time. Projects can be both small, such as a booksale or event to raise funds for a landscaping project, to larger projects involving fundraising for a new library facility.
Based on the needs identified by the library director and the White County Regional Library system, the WCPL Friends Foundation Board makes general decisions regarding the projects and programs for which they will seek funding. Donors to the foundation may direct their contributions to specific identified areas.
Your involvement will make a difference not only to your library but also to the lives of the many and diverse people it serves. Support for the WCPL Friends Foundation helps your library grow stronger and achieve project goals that would not be met otherwise.
